Award covers StrataWave™ UAS Radios, Beyond Line of Sight enhancements, and integration onto in-service uncrewed platforms
Linthicum, MD — August 5, 2026 — Rampart Communications today announced it has been awarded a contract from Army Contracting Command–Rock Island (ACC-RI), on behalf of the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Prototyping and Experimentation (ODASW(P&E)), to deliver StrataWave™ UAS Radios, including hardware and software enhancements that extend the radio’s Beyond Line of Sight (BLOS) capability, and to integrate the systems onto in-service uncrewed aerial platforms. The contract is valued at nearly $2 million.
The award to deliver StrataWave radios reflects the Department of War’s urgency in fielding communications that survive in denied, defended, and contested environments.
“Rampart’s StrataWave technology has already shown real promise in our T-REX experimentation events, maintaining resilient links against contested electronic warfare conditions that would take down conventional radios,” said Dr. An (Mike) Tran, Director of Prototyping, ODASW(P&E). “Extending StrataWave’s Beyond Line of Sight capability and integrating it onto our in-service platforms is exactly the kind of rapid, prototype-to-field transition our office exists to drive.”
“In Ukraine, hundreds of drones are lost daily due to electronic jamming and interception because their signals can be detected, located, and disrupted,” said Rampart Communications CEO Omar Javaid. “Rampart’s technology addresses that vulnerability at its root, making wireless signals indistinguishable from background noise, if a signal cannot be identified, it cannot be intercepted or jammed.”
